ABSTRACT
As soon as the BNP councillor, Derek Beackon was elected on 16 September 1993 hundreds of people became involved in working to ensure that he would not get re-elected and other British National Party candidates would not get elected to seats in Tower Hamlets Council in the local government elections the following May.
