ABSTRACT

The social domain strategies of eight selected companies are briefly discussed in recommendation 1 for comparison and contrast of differing business approaches in social responsibility (Table 5.1).

Current CSR and sustainability social strategies from some companies focus on affecting positive social responsibility change with the things that are within the company’s control such as supply chain and operations to assure consumers that they are buying products from a responsible company. Other companies strive to decrease social fragmentation through engagement with local communities to fully understand their expectations of a company, employer and community partners, so that the company can identify programs and investments that strengthen their relationships with local communities and give back to the communities where the company’s employees live, work and do business.
