ABSTRACT
When dealing with a human spirit that has produced both passive submission and the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, one is ill advised to claim finality for any conclusions about acquiescence and rebellion. My own conclusions are limited by the specificity of the situation through which I have looked at powerlessness (hourly factory workers) and the case through which I have examined it (NEC). There are some issues on which I did not have enough evidence to generalize and others that, quite frankly, I simply have not resolved in my own thinking. I have not spoken the final word on any of the matters raised, but there are some areas that warrant discussion in which I could see the questions without being in a position to provide the answers. Rather than summarizing what has appeared already, I want to point out a few questions that remain.
