Ugandan women and the Church

There were already many Christian women in Uganda when the first female missionaries arrived. The year 1895 however marked a new era in the Uganda Mission with increased funding from the London office, expansion into areas beyond Buganda, and diversification into specialised activities such as education, medicine and Women’s Work. It was in fact a boom period for the Uganda Mission and for the expanding Native Anglican Church.
