ABSTRACT
These essays, presentations, and talks on the organizational conflicts and dilemmas that have troubled psychoanalysis since its inception were published originally over the past 20 years. They address such questions as: Why has its history been so marked by schisms? How has a collection of professionals, well trained to detect unconscious motivations in others, been unable to understand and modify the assumptions that stand in the way of their own success? Why has the field been unable to adapt to the profound changes in the mental health industry in recent years?
