ABSTRACT
The conclusion gives us the opportunity for two kinds of reflection: (1) reflections on the corpora and historical sources we have used and the way we have used them, and (2) reflections on what has been a theme throughout, the nature of continuity and change in spoken language. We begin with reflections on methodology.
