Any car lot presents a variety of choices. There are variations in reliability, gas mileage, compression ratios, paint jobs, and accessories. Through variations in style a car can whisper to others about the owner’s youthfulness, importance, interests, and so on. But first and foremost, each car on the lot promises to deliver more or less safe, reliable, and comfortable transportation-at a cost.
