ABSTRACT
The RURAL wing of the Chinese Communist Party is a huge collection of people and organizations. Roughly speaking, about half of the party’s members and basic-level organs are located in the rural areas. While many of the principles and practices that guide the party in general certainly are applicable to the rural areas, the rural party also has many special features and problems.
