ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on developing a step-by-step approach to writing reports on a topic they have been investigating and on how to write instructions, arguments and reports of science experiments. It contains activities to develop children’s understanding of the features of different kinds of writing and stresses the importance of choosing the right register and writing in standard English, avoiding using slang and txtspk. Further activities include hints on how to improve spelling and punctuation.
