ABSTRACT

It took a full year to collect the eight student narratives. We had three students who agreed to participate early on in the process; however, after numerous extended deadlines and email contact with them we had to move on to other participants. We wanted the narratives to reflect their undergraduate status, so getting them written while they were still a sophomore, junior, or senior was a focus of the data collection effort. The graduate cohort did not present this dilemma. Soul and Miracle were the first to submit their narratives. As written in a prior chapter, it was the junior cohort that stretched the data collection to a full year. Those we contacted wanted to participate but never seemed to get it done. We are satisfied with the students who did participate and we believe that the students’ stories included in this book provide a comprehensive view of the LC experiences.
