ABSTRACT.Inaninterventionaimedatshowingstudentstheamountofresponsibilityinvolvedincaringfor aninfant,353predominantlyninth-gradeandLatinostudentscarriedtheBabyThinkItOversimulationdollinan interventionandcompletedmatchedpre-andposttest measures.Statisticallysignificantgainswerefoundonthe totalscoreandtheimpactofhavingababyonacademics, sociallife,andotherfamilymembers;emotionalrisks; understandingandhandlinganinfant'scrying;andapprehensionoftheamountofresponsibilityinvolvedininfant care.Onaposttest-onlymeasure,108participantsreported statisticallysignificantdifferencesbeforeandaftercarryingthedollwithregardtotheageatwhichtheywishedto haveachild,theircareerandeducationplans,andthe perceivedinterferenceofaninfantwiththoseeducation andcareerplansandtheirsociallife.
