ABSTRACT
Social and behavioral science research is both similar to and different from everyday inquiry. The goal of both approaches is to arrive at reasonable conclusions based on the accumulated evidence and the logical interpretation of that evidence. Research differs from everyday inquiry because it incorporates information from prior studies and is systematic.
