ABSTRACT

The last chapter defined brainstorming, and set out the six stages of a brainstorming session, including the four guidelines to be displayed. The six stages are only the bare outline, and experience has shown that further information is required by the manager wishing to introduce the technique into his organisation. For example, what factors should he take into account in selecting the people to invite to the brainstorming session? What are the characteristics of a successful leader? This chapter answers these questions, and gives some additional hints or 'tricks of the trade' for successful brainstorming.
