ABSTRACT
The previous chapter looked in brief outline at the way the whole brain works. With this background we can now look more closely at how the memory functions of the brain operate. As research into the brain is constantly enlarging the knowledge we have of its working, what follows is the ‘best guess’ from the available evidence.
