ABSTRACT

An understanding of today’s trials and realities must inform the way leaders and organizations move forward in responding to employee needs and, in turn, drive organizational results. Here, I suggest ten challenges that companies, leaders, and employees are facing today. In each case they are tensions between the realities: For example, by trying to do too much, companies may not accomplish anything as well as they ought. Or, just when people feel like they lack enough time for connecting, they must ensure they are investing time in relationships. Recognizing these tensions provides a starting point for their resolution.
