ABSTRACT
The importance of Felipe Pedrell’s work as a pioneer of modern Spanish music and, at the same time, as a restorer of a great part of Spain’s musical heritage, is too complex a subject to be covered adequately here. I shall simply concentrate on a single aspect of his life’s work – the most fundamental one, in my view.
