ABSTRACT

Reality Therapy has been used extensively in addictions treatment since the early 1970s and, again, particularly in North America, it has been widely used in conjunction with the Minnesota Method of treatment and other treatment programmes that also use the Twelve Steps of the Anonymous Fellowships. This does not mean that Reality Therapy as a method is linked to the Twelve Steps in any ‘formal’ way, only that it is a method that can be (and has been) successfully implemented with such programmes.
