ABSTRACT
At the first official session, although individuals may have been previously interviewed and the general purpose of the group discussed, the leader should spend perhaps half of the time developing a rapport with the group, giving necessary information and agreeing a contract with the members. This contract should encompass what is expected of the group but should also take into account what the leader has to offer to them.
