ABSTRACT

Many people are nervous of role play and drama and think they might be made to feel stupid. Often it dates back to school days when we were made to stand up in front of a class and felt very exposed or ridiculed. There are stages of getting into roles and we need to work at it gradually with people. I suggest that you always attempt lots of warm-ups and movement before making that transition into role playing of any kind. The statue exercises in the Movement and Relaxation section (p51) are especially helpful.
