ABSTRACT
Much of the earlier chapters and the activities in Part 2 of this book refer to activities for older people with nursing and physical care needs, and occasionally for older people with dementia. This chapter looks at the needs of different client groups including older men, older people with dementia (in more detail), and younger people. It aims to explore how and why their needs differ, and then to identify the activities that can work well for each specific group. It is important to note that within every group of people there are a number of individuals, and that, as always, suggestions for specific client groups must be taken in the light of your knowledge of the individuals within the defined client group.
