ABSTRACT

This final, brief section of the book is designed to “tie up some of the loose ends” that you may have when considering the design and implementation of an action research learning community. For example, you might be saying to yourself, “Action research communities sound great and there are some potential benefits, but why would I really want to participate in an ARC or start one in my school?” I believe that there are two straightforward answers to this question. The first deals with action research communities as a means for professional learning. The second addresses how action research communities can result in improved student achievement.
