ABSTRACT
The EU and Taiwan are different in many ways, but they share at least one thing in common. Both are not sovereign in the strict sense of the term. The EU is a supra-national entity that consists of 28 sovereign nations, while Taiwan is a quasi-national entity that is recognized as sovereign by a small number of small states. This chapter addresses the relationship between the EU and Taiwan.
