ABSTRACT
Global mindset is defined as a disposition to hold multiple perspectives within a single cultural map. A global mindset is becoming a necessity for all leaders who operate transnationally in the new global context. In this chapter, I argue that a global mindset requires frame-shifting – the adoption of a worldview that transcends individual cultures. Developing a global mindset is not an easy task. It requires many years and focused attention to the intentional cultivation of new patterns of behavior and communication. It involves an extra dosage of flexibility, patience, and humility.
