ABSTRACT
Robert Woodson, president of the National Center for Neighborhood Enterprise and a skeptic of forced busing, recalls a televised debate with the then-head of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. Woodson asked him, “If black children were excelling in an all-black school, would you support a demand that those children be bused to a white school, even if the white school offered a lower caliber of education?”
