ABSTRACT
Chapter 7, The Rewards: Active Learning as a New Stage, suggests mix-and-match ideas for stage relocations to fit the challenges of the coming decade. The chapter provides an overview on knowledge gain and skill proficiency and on the still open challenge of cyberspace in education. It integrates feedback from students, in their own words, to illuminate the rewards and remind readers of the still unmet need to bridge the physical–cyber divide in a balanced and dynamic way that fits the changing academic landscape, as the third decade of the 21st century begins.
