ABSTRACT
I guess that there are many definitions and perspectives as to what Lean really means in the business environment, but the simplest definition of Lean is “the relentless pursuit to eliminate waste”. “Waste” can be categorized as any non-valued-added activity; and a non-value-added activity is any activity that doesn’t add direct value to the customer – but more on that a little later.
