ABSTRACT
ALTHOUGH in earlier chapters much has been revealed about the strong compassion which sea-beasts, or rather monsters, show towards sailors in distress to save them from perishing, we may give further consideration to those renowned qualities which induce them to help men in the water when they are abandoned by their fellow-countrymen, or cruelly cast overboard to drown. 1
