ABSTRACT
The best architects and engineers now understand very well how to increase worker productivity through the design of an office, building, or factory. However, the techniques have not received widespread attention, partly due to a lack of well-documented case studies. Although there are many workplaces where these practices are delivering awesome results, their productivity gains have rarely been quantified. In some cases, the savings have been so huge that owners have been reluctant to give away the "secret" of their new competitive advantage.
