ABSTRACT

Cross Curricular Strategies Facilitating Communication Most meaningful interactions take place in everyday exchanges in all the environments in which the pupil lives and learns, rather than in formal communication lessons. Communication is a cross curricular skill and a process to be fostered by all those with whom the learner interacts (Curriculum Guidance 3 1990). The promotion of partnership with parents and interdisciplinary collaboration are of fundamental importance in ensuring the quality of these interactions. On-going assessment must also be made in collaboration with parents and where possible with the child him/herself.
