ABSTRACT
TALISMAN Abbreviation of Transfer Accounting, Lodgement for Investors, Stock Management for Jobbers. It was a central computerized system for settling equities, and also facilitated the transfer of stock from the central Stock Exchange pool and the issue of new certificates. In 1997 it was replaced by the Bank of England CREST system.
