ABSTRACT
A year in a preschooler's life represents a substantial portion of the child's developmental pattern. Within this period rapid changes occur physically as well as mentally. Piaget, for example, devoted considerable time to delineating six stages of mental development, within the sensory-motor period-the first two years of a child's life (Singer & Revenson, 1978).
