ABSTRACT

This chapter contains a review of the literature on the relationship between intentions and behavior, an introduction to intentionsbased models of predicting behavior, and the theoretical development of the research model and related hypotheses. The first major section examines the ability of entrepreneurial intentions to predict entrepreneurial behavior. This section includes a discussion of the research that supports the ability of intentions to predict behavior, along with a description of assumptions and conditions necessary to ensure predictive ability. This discussion is followed by a section that applies the necessary assumptions and conditions to the entrepreneurial intentions-behavior relationship.
