ABSTRACT
If dancing is to be considered an art, a creative art, it must be the expression of life, it must be the expression of the life of the dancer, and great or insignificant according to the dancer’s impressions and ability to express them. Creative dancing therefore is not something that can be acquired by perseverance, or something that can rely on mere personal charm, though both are necessary; nor do “natural” in the sense of “naïve” movements necessarily create art, or adequately express emotion.
