ABSTRACT
There has been no further significant legislation for Scottish and Irish bank notes. These were temporarily made legal tender during the Second World War. The fiduciary issues have remained unchanged at £2.7m. and £2.0m. respectively. The total amounts outstanding in December 1982 were £627m. and£89m. respectively (Table 111.(1)).
