ABSTRACT
Since every method is a way of going about things and every theory or hypotheses a statement about things, we offer this method as the proper one for going about complex phenomena. They cannot be gone into, taken apart, analysed and explained in the sense of 'laid out flat'. A definition of about is: 'Around the outside; on or towards every side; all round.' So one must quite literally 'go about', circumambulate, the phenomenon, much as a pilgrim views his shrine from all directions, letting it remain intact in its dignity, letting it speak and have its Wirkung.
