THEPOORINTHECOURTSBEFOREI9I47 informapauperisprocedureoftheirown,wasverylimited.The King'sPrerogativewas,however,frequentlyexercisedinorderto removeinjusticearisingfrompoverty,andtheJusticesofEyre, whotravelledthroughthecountryforthepurposeofclearingup alloutstandinglegalbusiness,receivedmanyappealsfrom paupersandbytheirinformalprocedurewereabletodealwith caseswhichcouldneverhavebeenbroughtintheordinary courts.ThisexerciseofthePrerogativewascontinuedinthe earlypracticeoftheChanceryCourts,includingtheStarChamber andtheCourtofRequests.
