ABSTRACT
Badati had ended. Filterinfo has been in abeyance. Major violence is no longer present. But social problems persist. So do social movements in Ambon. This chapter highlights four notable social movements that have arisen in Ambon from 2013 to 20201 and elaborates on collaboration among different community groups discussed in Chapter 8. Movement continuity appeared in the persistent participation of the past peace activists in subsequent movements. The activists utilized the existing movement infrastructures they had established through working together in the past peace movements and preserved the movement infrastructures through different messaging strategies to retain existing adherents and recruit new supporters, through which the loop of resource mobilizations flew. The continuity and change of the movements largely depended on the ability of the activists to respond to pressing problems and to collaborate with different entities in Ambon and beyond.
