ABSTRACT
This chapter looks at the language theories of Richard Rorty and Slavoj Zizek. I find in these very different thinkers, a realization that global ethical principles often function without the conscious awareness of the people using these ideals. This new theory of how ideology and language works pushes us to change how we teach about writing and reason.
