ABSTRACT

The introductory chapter discusses the significance and objectives of the study, research questions and the hypothesis, and the methodology and sources of data. It analyzes the theoretical debates on how governments and international organizations or institutions see international disputes through the lens of international relations theories, particularly realism, liberalism and constructivism. It also examines the “ASEAN Way” of dispute management and dispute settlement under international law. The chapter provides a brief summary of each chapter in the book.
