ABSTRACT

It is important for physicians nowadays to learn teamwork and learn how to be a leader. Defining successful leadership can be a challenge. “Leader” is a generic term for anyone who takes on a role of authority or provides direction in particular circumstances. For instance, surgeons are leaders in the operating room, orchestrating teams of skilled professionals through complicated procedures, charged with ensuring the best outcome for their patients. Many become leaders in their chosen specialty, developing better, more efficient methods of operating, fine-tuning skills, and training others to follow suit.
