ABSTRACT

Understanding the web of connections that links people around the world involves more than the study of environments, historical change, economies, and power. It requires studying the ideas by which people make sense of these processes. However integrated communities become through globalization, their models of how the world works continue to be shaped by different environments, histories, economic systems, ideologies, political systems, and languages. These differences in how people understand the world lead to different ways of acting and behaving in it.
