ABSTRACT
Not all social problems can be resolved with government programs or by laws, although both are very important. Many problems need the assistance of professional groups. Problems involving youth are often addressed through schools. Health problems are often addressed by doctors or other health care providers. Assistance to those in need often comes from churches or religious organizations. Sometimes the government provides financial assistance, but not always. Americans are traditionally very generous people, and many programs are funded through private giving or through a combination of government and private funding.
