ABSTRACT
The previous chapters showed that the more carefully peasant farmers are selected by government officials, the more interested they are in agriculture and the more readily they cooperate with the agricultural staff. Since peasant farmers are allowed great freedom to administer their local communities, their interest or lack of interest in agriculture can be seen by their participation in both formal and informal organizations.
