ABSTRACT

An attempt is made here to trace some of the influences of the gross differences in anatomical structure in the two sexes on character and superego development. Is there validity in the suggested correlation between these structural dissimilarities and certain differences in the character of the ego development, in itself fusing with and affecting the organization of the superego? No absolute proofs are available. It seems, however, that if a causal dynamic relationship appears on examination to be a probability, this weighs on the side of the correlation being more than a chance one.
