ABSTRACT
At this stage, the aspect of object relations that I previously referred to as “jointness-separateness” (see Chapter Four) takes a new direction, focusing on educational requirements (cleanliness, order, and discipline), the establishment of authority, and the toddler’s autonomy achievements, particularly mastery.
