ABSTRACT

In the previous chapter, I sketched the Quality of Life Strategy and explained its appeal. In this chapter, I set out the two most pressing objections to it and try to develop a common strategy for responding to them and so for saving the Quality of Life Strategy. Unfortunately, I fail. As such, I take the argument of this chapter to tell fairly decisively against the Quality of Life Strategy. Nevertheless, I take it that my attempt to save the Quality of Life Strategy helps to make some progress in how we understand it and why we should not dismiss it lightly (even if, in the end, we should dismiss it).
