ABSTRACT
The present chapter considers Bangladesh’s maritime gains and the prospects, along with the means used, strategic and legal, to establish its maritime claims. It identifies the explorable areas of maritime resources and how to exploit the prospects towards building a better national destiny. It also reflects on how Bangladesh could progressively move to ensure that the nation reaches a secured destiny, availing the maritime resources and enhancing its positional advantage in the wider geo-maritime settings. It is reasoned that towards fully gaining the propitious advantages offered in the newly acquired maritime possessions and to efficaciously exploit the resources therein Bangladesh must overcome the challenging deficits in governance, technology and knowledge.
