ABSTRACT
The Lord Chamberlain’s Men settled at the Theatre, Finsbury Fields, in 1594. Probably content with the duopoly they formed with the Admiral’s Men on the south bank, they operated as a kind of cartel, combining to keep other companies out of the capital.
