ABSTRACT
The first aluminium windows in the UK were installed in the early 1930s. Natural anodized frames, basically copies of existing steel casement windows, for example, were fitted to the New Bodleian Library, Oxford, and in a new office block in Banbury. Both of these installations are still in good condition today.
