ABSTRACT
The World Bank, like IMF founded in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, at the close of World War II, has also grown prodigiously. Its 44 nations have become 180, and are basically the same for the two institutions. Both agencies were scorned from the start by the Soviet Union as capitalist threats, but the empire’s successor nations have become members in good standing.
